As a Bar Supervisor, you oversee daily bar operations, supervise bar staff, and ensure efficient, professional beverage service while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
Supervising the preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company specifications. Leading and supporting bar staff, ensuring proper bar setup, inventory levels, service standards, and compliance with health, safety, and responsible alcohol service requirements. Maintaining an efficient and well-organized bar while providing excellent customer service and ensuring a welcoming and positive atmosphere for guests.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the bar and bar staff.
2. Check requisitioned supplies and assist with the preparation and submission of requisitions.
3. Ensure bars are properly set up, stocked, and prepared for service.
4. Oversee premixes, slush machine recipes, garnishes, and beverage preparations.
5. Ensure wine displays, bar equipment, glassware, and service areas meet company standards.
6. Monitor bar inventory and ensure adequate stock levels throughout service.
7. Ensure napkins, straws, garnishes, and other bar supplies are properly stocked and maintained.
8. Monitor bar refrigerator temperatures and ensure proper storage of beverages and ingredients.
9. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout service.
10. Train, guide, and monitor bar staff to ensure compliance with service and company standards.
11. Assist with the planning and execution of special functions, events, and beverage services.
12. Monitor guest service and promptly address guest concerns or service issues.
13. Verify customers’ identification and ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
14. Monitor beverage quality, portion control, responsible alcohol service, and adherence to company procedures.
15. Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
16. Complete required bar reports, inventory checks, and other operational documentation.
17. Stay guest-focused and promote a safe, healthy, and positive environment for guests and team members.
18. Comply with all food and beverage, health, safety, sanitation, and company regulations.
19. Perform all other duties related to the position and any additional responsibilities assigned by the Bar Manager or management.
• Associate Degree in Food & Beverage Service, Restaurant Operations, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
• Mixology or Bartending Certification preferred.
• Two to Three years’ minimum experience in bartending or beverage operations, including proven supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, bar equipment, beverages, inventory control, and restaurant/bar operations.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Even-tempered and able to manage stress, long working hours, and a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain the highest level of hospitality standards.
NOTE: Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, lifting, and may occasionally have to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
